fashion design

we have been given 5sets of 3words as a starting point for our fashion design brief.  i have chosen flimsy, ethereal and fuzzy as my 3 words to expand on.

i chose bones as my inspiration as it was one of the words on my chart that stood out.

from here i sketched very detailed drawings of various parts of the skeleton such as the wrist, pelvis, leg bone, hand etc.  from these we looked at the individual shapes within each drawing and came up with quite a few different ones.  i have chosen two of my favourite and cut both out in different scales on paper and used them to create even more shapes and interesting details.  the following are just a few examples of these.

space and clutter

i chose to go with windmills as my image to print.  i gradually built up the image of the windmills adding them one by one.

we were also given a project this week titled Clutter.  i chose my wardrobe as the most cluttered place i could think of so i took some photographs of the clutter.

i had to print an image to represent these photos so i decided to choosen something that symbolised how we all indulge in ourselves buying unnecessary luxury items, which in my case is clothes which i am clearly not in short supply of!  i sketched credit card images, cash images and purse images and decided to go with a designer purse image using my favourite designer purse as the image.

space

i have been given a brief titled space.  i began by looking and manmade and organic space.  i found two areas interesting. one was how manmade space evades organic space such as roads or electricity poles in the middle of the countryside which is otherwise organic.

i then looked into manmade spaces and noticed how the organic spaces within manmade space is extremely controlled and organised.  for example the 'natural' grass in the park is controlled into the specific patches desired or the trees along the road which have been organised into certain height and distance between each one.  although they seem to be organic space, the space is very controlled
